gil spends most of their time thinking about the internet and television. They’ve spent the latter-half of their life on the internet actually, diving head first into internet fandom after watching Ben 10: Alien Force and reading the Sherlock Holmes stories when they were eleven. That’s sixteen years of experience that now informs their scholarship.
Currently, their research is focused on the evolution of teen television, the rise of sex negative attitudes amongst young queer fans, and internet fandom history.
gil has a B.A. in Sociology from Rutgers University and a M.A. in Media Studies from The New School.
